Packers' preseason schedule announced

Published Apr. 7, 2016 4:30 p.m. ET

We knew the Green Bay Packers would be playing five exhibition games this summer -- thanks to their participation in the annual Hall of Fame Game -- and now we know all of their opponents as the NFL released the preseason schedule for 2016.

The Packers open the exhibition season in Canton, Ohio against Indianapolis on Aug. 7 at 7 p.m., the same weekend that former Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre and ex-Colts head coach Tony Dungy and wide receiver Marvin Harrison will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Green Bay will then host Cleveland and its new quarterback Robert Griffin III between Aug. 11-14 and Oakland between Aug. 18-21.

The Packers travel to San Francisco between Aug. 25-28 to face the 49ers and their new head coach Chip Kelly. This is the game when the regulars usually receive the most playing time, but with Green Bay playing five games, that could change.

Finally, the exhibition season concludes Sept. 1 in Kansas City.

Exact dates and times will be released at a later date.
