EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The New York Giants have swapped a couple of linebackers on their roster.

The Giants announced on Thursday that they had signed Tony Johnson and waived Ryan Jones.

Johnson played two seasons at Louisiana Tech after transferring from Southwest Mississippi Community College. He had 92 tackles (52 solo), 2 1/2 sacks, seven tackles for losses, an interception and a fumble recovery in 24 games. He finished third on the team with 69 tackles last season.

Jones of Montana Tech was signed in April. He was originally signed as a free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in May 2013 and waived/injured a month later with a foot injury.
