Detroit Lions sign ex-Washington DE Darryl Tapp

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) The Detroit Lions signed unrestricted free agent defensive end Darryl Tapp to a one-year contract.

Tapp is an eight-year NFL veteran who played for Seattle from 2006-09, Philadelphia from 2010-12, and Washington in 2013.

He appeared in 11 games last season, making six solo and nine total tackles, including a sack.

The Seahawks picked him 63rd overall in the second round of the 2006 draft out of Virginia Tech.
