Zach Randolph's minutes totals are plummeting
Zach Randolph isn't just a missing name in the Grizzlies starting lineup anymore. He's starting to fall deeper into the rotational abyss.
That became even truer Saturday when Randolph, who was coming off the bench for the fifth consecutive game, played a mere 14 minutes during a win over the Pacers.
From Chris Faulkner of Grizzly Bear Blues:
Actually 14 minutes was the lowest minutes total Randolph had played in a game since sustaining that MCL injury back in 2012. He produced to a degree (six points on 3-of-4 shooting), but its tough to contribute any sort of volume when playing so little.
The Grizzlies went to a smaller, quicker lineup recently, inserting Matt Barnes and Courtney Lee into the first unit while sliding Jeff Green over to the 4. Since the move that completely changed Memphis' half-a-decade-long identity, the team is just 2-3, but the trio of losses has come against teams better than .500: the Heat, Bulls and Mavericks. We'll have to wait a little longer to learn the true effects of the change.
