R.J. Hunter's versatility impresses and intrigues Raptors

R.J. Hunter was the darling of the NCAA tournament this year. But even before the tournament, Hunter was a sleeper candidate to go in the first round of the 2015 draft. After his heroics and impressive workouts, he's no longer a sleeper but a sure thing. One team particularly impressed by Hunter is the Raptors, and not just because of his shooting. As Raptors director of scouting Dan Tolzman told the Toronto Sun

"'He’s trying to prove that he’s more than just a shooter and he showed that,' Tolzman said of Thursday’s workout in Toronto. 'He’s good with the handle, he passes the ball well, probably better than people give him credit for,' Tolzman said."

Tolzman also praised Hunter's defensive awareness, saying he has the knack for knowing where a guy will be open. Given Hunter's rise the past few weeks, he may be gone well before the Raptors are on the clock. If he's there, though, he might be the best player available, and the Raptors shouldn't hesitate to grab him.
