Curry on Lawson's defense comments: 'That's funny'

Last week, Houston Rockets point guard Ty Lawson called out Stephen Curry's defensive effort in the 2015 NBA playoffs.
Lawson suggested to Yahoo Sports that Curry was able to coast through the playoffs because of his competition, or lack thereof. As a result, Lawson believes Curry was able to expend more energy on the offensive end, leading to monster performances.
"Steph Curry needed someone to go back at him," Lawson said. "I thought Steph was just chillin’ on defense -- and then going crazy on offense. He looked like he was just putting shots up and not working so much on the defensive end. He would just come down and hit three or four 3s. He can shoot when he’s got his legs under him."
When Curry was asked about his opinion of Lawson's remarks at a recent practice, he couldn't help but laugh them off:
Lawson is digging himself and the his teammates into a hole when they face the Warriors next. The matchup is a budding rivalry, no doubt, but Lawson just poured gasoline, lit a match and threw it into the middle of things.
Look for Curry and the Warriors, who are looking for any motivation they can find on their road to repeating, to seek revenge when these two teams face off Oct. 30 in Houston.
