Despite losing a tough game and being swept by the Cardinals, D-backs reliever Brad Ziegler saw the glass half-full. Per MLB.com, he said:

"We definitely know we can play with one of the best teams in the league, for sure," Ziegler said. "We were right there every game. I think it shows some areas where we can grow as a team. Try to win some of those close games instead of losing them. We were real close.”

The D-backs lost the first game of the series by one run in extra innings, the second by two runs and were leading in the ninth on Wednesday night before Ziegler gave up the winning run.

Manager Chip Hale also put a positive spin on the series:

"Like I told them after the game, they busted their tails all three games.”
