WHAT IT MEANS

Autism Speaks is the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization. It is dedicated to funding research into the causes and treatments for autism, increasing awareness of autism, funding local service providers, developing resources for every stage of life and advocating for the needs of people with autism and their families. Since its inception, Autism Speaks has committed more than $570 million to its mission, the majority in science and medical research. Several years ago, BowTie Cause contacted Autism Speaks to show support for Light It Up Blue and Autism Awareness Month. Autism Speaks created the bowtie design using the Autism Speaks puzzle piece logo and signature blue color to highlight the fact that boys are more than four times more likely to have autism.
