Lidge went back to Philadelphia this week for an examination. The team says he's day-to-day with inflammation in the lining of his elbow joint.

Lidge started the season on the disabled list and was activated in late April.

The Phillies also said Friday that shortstop Jimmy Rollins is set to begin a rehab assignment at Class A Clearwater. Rollins is recovering from a strained right calf and is expected to play a minor league game on Saturday.
