Rose's role still to be determined
Pete Rose will be at the All-Star game and will likely be honored or recognized at some point, but exactly how it all shakes out is still a matter of mystery.
“We're in conversations with the Reds about the specifics of his involvement at the All-Star Game and it relates to Pete's employment, where he's committed, what he's going to be available for," baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred told the Associated Press.
Rose accepted a job with FOX Sports earlier this year and the game, which takes place on July 14, will be broadcast by FOX.
Initially there was some concern that having Rose at the game would be a bad look for baseball, but Manfred doesn't see it that way and feels everything will be just fine.
"The idea that any individual could overshadow the great players that we're going to have at the All-Star Game in Cincinnati is just not something that seems realistic to me," Manfred said.
