Reports: Dodgers' Billingsley to have season-ending elbow surgery

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Chad Billingsley will have season-ending surgery on his pitching elbow, according to multiple reports.
The procedure will repair a partially torn flexor tendon.
Billingsley, who was on a minor-league rehab assignment when he experienced the discomfort, made only two starts during the 2013 season before having Tommy John surgery on the same elbow. He hasn't pitched in the majors this season.
"I'm flustered," Billingsley told the Dodgers' website. "This is not the way I wanted to spend two years of my life in rehab."
Billingsley, 29, was a first-round pick by the Dodgers in 2003 and is 81-61 with a 3.65 ERA in eight major-league seasons. He is in the final guaranteed season of a three-year, $35 million contract.
