KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Rangers transferred right-hander Tanner Scheppers to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday and brought in several reinforcements for the final month of the season.

Right-handers Lisalverto Bonilla and Nick Tepesch and infielder Luis Sardinas were recalled from Triple-A Round Rock, while left-hander Michael Kirkman had his contract purchased from the same club. Bonilla and Kirkman have never played in the big leagues.

Right-hander Spencer Patton is scheduled to join the Rangers on Thursday when they open a series at home against Seattle. Patton also has been playing at Round Rock.

Scheppers was placed on the 15-day DL on June 11 with right elbow inflammation. He was 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA in four starts and eight appearances this season.
