The U.S. women's national team began their World Cup campaign on Monday, and Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper made sure to send his support to the team as they aim to bring home a World Cup trophy back to the U.S. for the first time since 1999.
Harper posted a photo of him wearing the jersey of USA starting striker Sydney Leroux to his Instagram account, wishing the team luck in the caption.
The USA defeated Australia in their World Cup opener, 3-1, thanks to a pair of goals from midfielder Megan Rapinoe and steady goalkeeping from Hope Solo.
