Phillies to sell hard liquor, wine at Citizens Bank Park this season

The Philadelphia Phillies revealed that the team and its concession partner Aramark will be selling a selection of hard liquor and wine at Citizens Bank Park this season.
The news, as part of an announcement in which the team touted new concession offerings that will be available at the ballpark, states that cocktails and wine will be sold in the main concourse’s general concession areas, Philly.com reports.
It not the first time that hard liquor and wine have made appearances at the park. The report notes that both previously were available in select locations inside the stadium -- including non-Aramark establishments "such as McFadden’s, as well as in premium seating areas and at the sit-down restaurant Harry the K’s." It’s noted elsewhere that you could also get it at the High & Inside Pub, located on the second level behind home plate, too. But this will be a new endeavor allowing all the Philly fans in the general ballpark population a crack at mixed drinks and wine.
The report says that wine and cocktails will not be allowed to be brought back to seating areas, and the official cocktail list hasn’t been firmed up just yet.
Given that the prospects of the Phillies season range from abysmal to downright putrid, the argument can be made that the fans in attendance are going to need to drink.
Philadelphia fans, of course, have developed an unsavory reputation -- arguably unfairly -- of having a fair share of unruly folks among their ranks (here and here), so it’s best to leave Crossing Broad, a noted Philly-centric site of some renown, to characterize the decision to sell booze at Phillies games.
“Over-under on how long this lasts until horrific left-field incident forces Phillies to backtrack: three weeks,” Kyle Scott writes.
