Peavy day to day with groin strain

Published Jun. 6, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

White Sox right-hander Jake Peavy is listed as day to day with a mild strain on his right groin.

Peavy had an MRI exam Monday, a day after he started for Chicago against Detroit. He was perfect through three innings, but gave up six runs in the fourth and left the game.

The 30-year-old Peavy had season-ending surgery last July to repair a muscle under his right shoulder and started this season on the disabled list.

Peavy is 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA in five starts this year.
