Padres RHP Moseley injured while batting

Published Jun. 9, 2011 4:34 a.m. ET

San Diego Padres right-hander Dustin Moseley injured his left shoulder while batting against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.

Moseley popped up in the fifth inning, immediately grabbed his left shoulder and fell to the ground. He said he sustained a subluxation, where the shoulder slips out of the socket, then immediately slips back in place.

Moseley said he will have an MRI on Thursday and said he hopes he won't miss his next start.

Moseley said he's had the injury before.

''It's tough to describe. It's just a real nervy feeling,'' Moseley said. ''Everything's being stretched because the shoulder's not where it's supposed to be.''

Cory Luebke came on to start the sixth for the Padres, who lost 5-3.
