Padres' Justin Upton discusses potential moves by Preller
Amidst the rumors of Padres GM A.J. Preller dismantling the team he put together in the offseason, one Padre expressed his desire for the team to stay together. Per ESPN, the Padres’ lone All-Star this year spoke about the rumors saying:
"I really like the guys, and I like the clubhouse. We still have some time to change the minds of the front office. In a perfect world, we play well over the next two or three weeks and A.J. pumps the brakes on dismantling the team.''
Unfortunately it’s not a perfect world, and the Padres have yet to show signs of contending this year. Upton is in the final year of his contract. According to a report Thursday, he has drawn interest from the Mariners, Angels and Royals.
