SAN DIEGO (AP) Padres starter Paul Clemens left Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Reds in the fifth inning because of tightness in his lower back.
Clemens retired Homer Bailey on a grounder for the first out of the fifth.
He then motioned to the San Diego dugout, and he was removed after a short visit by manager Andy Green.
