The Baltimore Orioles have declined a $3 million contract option for second baseman Alexi Casilla, making him a free agent.

Monday's move means Casilla receives a $200,000 buyout.

Casilla hit .214 with a homer and 10 RBIs in 61 games in his first season with Baltimore, which claimed him off waivers from Minnesota in November 2012.

The 29-year-old switch-hitter is a career .248 hitter in eight years in the majors. He also has 80 steals in 91 chances.
