Montero pitched five scoreless innings in a 2-1, 10-inning win over Miami on Aug. 29, which was his first start of the year. He is 1-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 10 career starts.

The Mets also called up outfielder Brandon Nimmo, infielder T.J. Rivera, infielder Eric Campbell, left-hander Josh Edgin, right-hander Erik Goeddel and infielder Gavin Cecchini from Las Vegas. Neil Walker, who is recovering from back surgery, was placed on the 60-day disabled list on Tuesday.

The Mets had won 12 consecutive games against Cincinnati, their longest winning streak against the Reds.
