ATLANTA (AP) The benches for the Marlins and Braves emptied after Atlanta right-hander Jose Ramirez was ejected for his high, inside pitch to Miami ace Jose Fernandez on Wednesday night.

No punches were thrown in the seventh-inning incident. Players from both teams crowded around Fernandez and catcher Tyler Flowers at the plate.

Another inside pitch from starter Julio Teheran sent Fernandez sprawling in the fifth.

Teheran hit Martin Prado with a pitch in the sixth inning, when the Marlins took a 5-4 lead with four runs. Fernandez hit right fielder Nick Markakis on the hip with a fastball in the sixth.

There was no indication of a warning issued to the benches after Markakis was hit. Home plate umpire Marvin Hudson quickly tossed Ramirez after his inside pitch to Fernandez.
