Mark McGwire reveals his reaction when his wife told him they were having triplets

Mark McGwire had his share of thrills during his 16-year career. Hitting 70 homers in a season and eclipsing the 500-home run plateau have to rank pretty high for McGwire.

But it took something off the field to truly be jaw-dropping for the former big-league slugger. McGwire, now 52 and the San Diego Padres hitting coach, recently revealed what went through his mind when he found out his wife was having triplets in 2010.

All McGwire needed to hear was June 1, 2010, which brought a big smile to his face. He followed that by saying, "My triplets!"

McGwire then said his reaction to the news was similar to an old cartoon character whose mouth dropped to the floor.

Can anyone blame Big Mac for that reaction?
