Giants' Wilson might miss Opening Day

San Francisco Giants closer Brian Wilson is in some doubt for the start of the baseball season after an MRI Saturday revealed the All-Star had strained his left oblique in spring training, the San Jose Mercury News reported.
Wilson will be shut down until at least Monday, when he will be re-evaluated.
The 29-year-old, who closed out Game 5 as the Giants claimed the World Series over the Texas Rangers last season, was confident he would not miss Opening Day on March 31 against the Dodgers.
"They'll know I'll be ready," Wilson said.
Giants manager Bruce Buchy admitted "this is a setback," but was not too concerned by the nature of the injury.
"It's not torn or anything. We'll see where he's at Monday and then we'll have a better idea of where we are at," Bochy said.
Wilson, a cult figure with his peculiar personality and dyed-black beard, had not lost his sense of humor despite the injury concern.
"On a serious note, they asked me what kind of music you want to listen to in the MRI [machine]," Wilson said.
"And I said 'I don't care, whatever is playing.' I kid you not, 'Smoke on the Water' was playing, so everything is going to be good."
