Giants' Bochy feeling 'better than the last couple years' after spring health scare

Giants manager Bruce Bochy had a bit of a health scare in the spring when he underwent a heart procedure that inserted two stents. He was hospitalized for a few days, but was quickly back on the field with the blessing of his doctor.
Midway through the season, Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News reports that Bochy feels just fine, better than in previous seasons even. He said:
“I feel better than the last couple years and I think it’s because the stents opened things up and got things working a little better.”
Bochy admitted that he wouldn’t have had any second thoughts about hanging it up if his doctor had advised him to. Fortunately for Giants fans, the three-time World Series champion manager feels fine healthwise and still has the motivation. Bochy said:
“I still have the passion, I think, the competitive drive to win...I’m not ready to go home or travel. This is what I love to do.”
