Dodgers' Kershaw loses perfect game bid in 7th vs Mets

NEW YORK (AP) Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw has lost his bid for a perfect game against the New York Mets in the seventh inning on a leadoff single by Curtis Granderson.

Granderson lined an 0-2 pitch for a clean hit to right field Thursday night at Citi Field.

Kersshaw struck out eight in the first six innings. He is a three-time Cy Young Award winner and the reigning NL MVP.

The Dodgers lead 1-0.

The Mets were no-hit earlier this season at home by Giants rookie Chris Heston.

Kershaw pitched his only career no-hitter last season at home against the Colorado Rockies.
