Balfour agrees to terms with Rays

Right-handed reliever Grant Balfour has agreed to a $2.05 million, one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays, avoiding arbitration.

The Rays announced the deal Sunday.

Balfour went 5-4 with a 4.81 ERA in 73 appearances last season.
