A-Rod and Big Papi team up to make a young's fan day at Fenway

Alex Rodriguez never has been the most popular player at Fenway Park, but he's doing his best to change that late in his career.
After blasting his fourth homer of the season -- and the 28th of his career at Fenway Park -- on Friday night, A-Rod sought out a young Red Sox fan behind home plate and gave him his bat.
MLB.com reports the 8-year-old fan is David Moss, whose father Andy died last September before the two could watch a game at Fenway Park together. Instead, David and his sister and mother made the trip from Arizona and met David Ortiz. Big Papi then clued in A-Rod about the situation.
"I asked if I could have his bat," Moss said. "He said, 'If I hit a home run you can have my bat!'"
And Rodriguez did just that.
Not only did Moss have a huge smile on his face after Rodriguez's homer in the second inning, he also left the park happy after Ortiz homered over the Green Monster in the eighth inning to give Boston a 4-2 lead that it wouldn't relinquish.
