BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Nick Norton converted 6 of 7 from the free throw line in overtime to preserve Alabama-Birmingham’s come-from-behind, 81-76 win over Charlotte Thursday night.
Charlotte (8-10, 2-4 C-USA) held a 65-60 lead after Torin Dorn’s jumper with 2:32 left, but the Blazers (9-10, 5-1) came back behind a Ronald Brown dunk and Norton’s 3-pointer with 1:27 left to force overtime.
Norton was fouled beyond the arc and converted all three free throws to give UAB a 70-69 lead and, after a Norton defensive rebound, Hakeem Baxter got to the basket for a layup. Brown added a layup to make it 74-71 and the Blazers closed out the game from the line.
