Dolphins staff sit coach, players fly first-class during London trip

After creating a mini-quarterback controversy on Monday, Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin and staff could be trying to make up some ground.

The latest gesture was allowing the players – instead of the coaches -- to sit first-class during their nine-hour flight to London, according to The Miami Herald.

"The players are the ones who have to play the game," Philbin explained.

The Dolphins, who play the Raiders on Sunday overseas, are coming off two straight losses where quarterback Ryan Tannehill struggled. Earlier this week, Philbin didn't publically commit to Tannehill as his quarterback moving forward. The criticism, of course, hasn't sat well with the former first-round pick.

"I'd say it's been probably the most challenging week [of my career]," Tannehill said, via the report. "I'm excited to go play. I'm excited to be out there with my teammates again and just have a shot at playing like we can play.

While the QB controversy will be sidelined for at least another week, the Dolphins' players can enjoy comfort in the air.
