Cardinals' Gresham thrives in first start while subbing for Fells

Tight end Jermaine Gresham acquitted himself well in his first start with the Arizona Cardinals.

Playing in place of an injured Darren Fells, Gresham finished with four receptions for 62 yards in Arizona's 26-18 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.

Gresham, a two-time Pro Bowl selection with the Cincinnati Bengals, entered the contest with only five catches for 51 yards though his first six games with the Cardinals. He was targeted a team high-tying six times by quarterback Carson Palmer, a former teammate in Cincinnati.

“I’m just trying to find my niche in this offense, being in the right place at the right time,” Gresham said. “Carson is going to go through his progressions and make his reads, so just be there.”

Fells hurt his shoulder in a Week 6 loss at Pittsburgh and was expected to miss two games. Gresham, who is in his first year with the Cardinals, averaged 56 catches during his five seasons with the Bengals.
