Would the New York Jets trade for Colin Kaepernick?
Over the weekend, ESPN's Rich Cimini fielded some questions from fans over twitter for a special weekend mailbag and one fan raised an interesting question. With the Jets still in need of a quarterback and a report earlier this June by ESPN's John Clayton about the 49ers possibly trading Colin Kaepernick, Rich was asked whether or not the Jets could trade for Kaepernick.
@RichCimini What is the possibility of the Jets trading for Colin Kaeprnick?

Cimini didn't totally shoot the possibility of Kaepernick in green and white but did say it would be a long shot to get him to the Big Apple.
There are many factors as to why it is considered a long shot for the Jets to acquire the 49ers signal caller. Geno Smith would have to play poorly in 2015. Additionally, while the Jets did spend a late round pick on Baylor quarterback Bryce Petty, trading for Kaepernick would mean that they see no future for him as a starter in the NFL. Lastly, Kaepernick signed a contract extension in 2014 and his contract is now worth $114 million over the next six years.
