Broncos' reserve tight end just wants to hit someone -- anyone
C.J. Anderson wasn't about to tell Joe Don Duncan to play by the rules.
Duncan, a reserve tight end, was itching to get some contact in before the Broncos put pads on. He found it in the former of an unsuspecting linebacker, much to Anderson's delight.
"He hit somebody in the mouth today," Anderson told the team's official wesbite. "So we’re happy about that.”
No one's happier than Duncan is. As a reserve tight end, his primary job is to but defenders on their rear ends -- even if they're wearing shorts and play for the same team.
Duncan won't be denied. He came from D-II Dixie State, battled through a broken foot, and returned to find his team in dire need of a blocking tight end.
He could easily be the answer. Duncan is 270 pounds, and according to the team's website, he's built like "a piece of iron."
As that linebacker found out, he's also angry. He hasn't played in nearly two years. That's a lifetime to a player who gets paid to move big guys around.
"Hopefully I can keep progressing and work as hard as I can to help this team out."Duncan said. "I'm kind of amped up and ready to go."
