In the latest edition of our Milwaukee Bucks’ Win In 6 Podcast, we look at the incredible consistency of Don Nelson‘s Bucks teams from the late 70s and 80s.

It’s that time of week again as our team gets together to discuss the latest Milwaukee Bucks‘ news and most important conversation points in our “Win In 6 Podcast”!

This week, much as it has been with our content on site of late and was on the podcast last week, things are going to be a little different  as we continue to mark our very own Bucks History month.

While our focus is normally directed towards the day-to-day happenings of the Bucks in 2016, and occasionally the future (as a potential source of solace), we’ve decided to take some time to recognize everything that brought the Bucks up to this current point.

In terms of the podcast, that kicked off last week as we stepped back to the founding days of the team and the glory days of the early-to-mid 70s, while this week its the turn of the Don Nelson coached Bucks teams.

We discuss how although Milwaukee’s sole title success came in the 1970s, the consistent success of the 1980s which included seven straight 50 seasons and 10 post-season visits in 11 years, has a valid case to be recognized as the best spell of basketball that the franchise has seen.

We discussed Don Nelson more specifically in terms of his basketball philosophies, the style of his team and the way in which his decisions set the tone for all facets of the organization at that time.

Considering a key element of those teams was multiple playmakers and the Bucks were far from the league’s best shooting team at the time, we also consider some of the similarities between those great teams and the current group that the Bucks are invested in.

On top of that, having discussed some of the franchise’s greatest point guards last week, this week was the turn of Milwaukee’s shooting guards.

As usual, our mailbag wrapped things up with questions on Milwaukee’s collection of recurring jersey numbers, the underrated Sidney Moncrief, Jason Terry‘s potential influence and recasting a Bucks version of Space Jam.

Joining me for all of this is regular podcast guest and contributor at the site, Jordan Treske.
