When Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade decides to hang him up, he could have one heck of a career on television. He proved that on Tuesday night, when he was joined by LeBron James on the set of "SportsCenter" after Game 3 of the NBA Finals and got James to give up some rather honest answers in the interview.

It undoubtedly helps that the two are still such good friends, even after James' departure from Miami. But Wade showed that he has persistence as an interviewer, not letting his former teammate off the hook when he gave a somewhat stock answer the first time Wade tried to goad James into revealing that the Cleveland Cavaliers forward wasn't happy about finishing third in the MVP race this season.

"But . . . Jordan, Karl Malone. Right? We're fans of the game. Michael Jordan, greatest in the game, Karl Malone, MVP," Wade asked. "That extra chip. Did you need that extra chip? You're playing against the league MVP, but we all know you're the greatest player in the game, but did you need that extra chip?"

James said that he didn't need that extra motivation, per se, but he admitted that it was on his mind as he helped his team to a 2-1 series lead over MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. And the whole interview had an air of familiarity and openness; it was the kind of thing you just don't see, especially after such an emotional game.

Wade couldn't let James get off easy, though, beyond his insistence in following that line of questioning. He compared his performance in the 2006 Finals to what LeBron is doing, and James admitted that Wade's performance was superior. At the very least, it was more efficient. And Wade won a ring; that's still very much up in the air for James and the Cavaliers.
