The Golden State Warriors have found their groove and are in the midst of yet another lengthy winning streak. On Friday night, Golden State took on Los Angeles for the second time in three nights after their 149-point explosion on Wednesday night.
It wasn’t quite the offensive showcase that Wednesday brought, but the Warriors made sure to play efficient basketball on both ends of the floor. From the first quarter on, Golden State locked in on defense and never allowed the Lakers to score more than 23 points in a quarter.
When Kevin Durant was in the game, the Lakers were never even able to get close. Durant was a +35 on the night and his presence shooting the ball kept the Warriors ahead comfortably. If there was a downside to the night, it was a scary collision between Draymond Green and Ian Clark.
The duo collided under the hoop and that caused both to lead the game. While it’s early in the season and both will have plenty of time to heal in all likelihood, you never want to see an injury occur when a team is really starting to hit their stride.
The Lakers tried to cut the deficit late in the game, but Stephen Curry finished it off and the Warriors would take home their second straight win and finally get a road win against the Lakers. There will be no rest for those that are healthy, as they will host the Minnesota Timberwolves tomorrow night. It’s another revenge game opportunity after Minnesota came into Oracle last season and won late in the year. It should be an exciting game between the young Timberwolves and Golden State.
