Pacers' former All-Star Granger expected to make season debut

Published Dec. 20, 2013 12:00 a.m. ET

Indiana's Danny Granger will make his season debut Friday night against Houston, while the Rockets will be without point guard Jeremy Lin.

Lin, meanwhile, will be inactive with back spasms, coach Kevin McHale said about 90 minutes before tip-off

It's' a big night for the Pacers, who still have the best record in the Eastern Conference at 20-5 and have waited two months to get Granger back on the floor. The former All-Star led the Pacers in scoring for five consecutive seasons before missing all but five games last season with a left knee injury.

Coach Frank Vogel is being cautious with Granger, who is expected to play 15 to 20 minutes backing up Lance Stephenson and Paul George. Vogel acknowledged Granger may look rusty as he tries to regain his timing and rhythm.
