Landry Fields out five months after hip surgery

We recently wondered whether former Toronto Raptor Landry Fields would be able to find a place in the NBA for the upcoming season.
Today's news makes the task even more difficult than we previously imagined.
Fields underwent surgery for a hip labral tear and will be out for five months, according to a report from Yahoo Sports/FOX Sports 1 NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
That timetable would have Fields unavailable to play for a team until the second half of the season.
Fields posted averages of just 1.8 points and one rebound per game in 26 appearances for Toronto last season, and had been dealing with injury issues in his shooting arm that caused him to work on being able to shoot left-handed so he could be productive offensively once again.
All of that, along with his hip situation would need to be fully resolved in order for Fields to continue his NBA career.
