Knicks make a unique change to the in-arena experience during first half vs. Warriors

The New York Knicks are having a disastrous season once again, currently sitting in 12th in the Eastern Conference. Carmelo Anthony’s future was up in the air around the trade deadline, Charles Oakley was briefly banned from Madison Square Garden, and Brandon Jennings was surprisingly waived last week.

To make up for all the miscues, the Knicks experimented with something new Sunday against the Golden State Warriors. Rather than playing music and playing videos on the video board, the Knicks went old-school and kept it completely silent in the first half.

Many fans on Twitter actually found this to be a cool idea by the Knicks, considering how noisy it can get in arenas these days. Perhaps other teams will follow suit and allow fans to enjoy basketball “in its purest form.”

After all, it’s pretty neat to be able to hear players and coaches talk on the court rather than listening to the blaring of music over the speakers.
