Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig left Thursday night’s spring training game against the Angels after colliding with teammate Howie Kendrick.

The two players were attempting to track down a fly ball which came off the bat of Mike Trout in the fifth inning of the exhibition game. As they neared one another, Puig called Kendrick off. Kendrick attempted to evade him, but it was too late. The two players collided, and Kendrick’s elbow struck Puig in the throat.

Puig went down and stayed down for a bit. He was tended to by a trainer, and eventually walked off the field under his own power. Chris Heisey came in to replace him.

The good news is that he was taken out of the game as a precaution, and looks to be okay, according to sideline reporter Alanna Rizzo.
