TAMPA, Fla. (AP) New York Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran singled in three at-bats and played five innings of defense in his second minor league rehabilitation game while recovering from a strained left oblique.

The 38-year-old Beltran, playing for Class A Tampa against Charlotte on Thursday night, also went 2 for 2 with a walk as the designated hitter Wednesday.

Beltran is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list Friday. He is hitting .260 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs this season.

The AL East-leading Yankees host Seattle Friday night in their first game since the All-Star break.
