MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The New York Yankees added reliever Nick Goody from Triple-A Scranton to their active roster and optioned right-hander Branden Pinder to Scranton before their game against the Minnesota Twins.

Goody flew from Scranton, Pennsylvania to Detroit, then to Minneapolis on Saturday morning and was available in the bullpen. The right-hander was 1-2 with a 1.68 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A.

Pinder had a 2.92 ERA in 11 games with the Yankees.

''Trying to keep that fresh arm where we can keep that fresh arm,'' Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. ''It's been rotating.''
