The New York Yankees have activated right-hander Freddy Garcia from the 15-day disabled list Monday, allowing him to start against the Baltimore Orioles.

Right-hander reliever Hector Noesi was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to make room for Garcia on the 25-man roster.

Garcia (10-7, 3.16 ERA) was placed on the disabled list on Aug. 19, retroactive to Aug. 8, with a cut right index finger. He made one rehab start at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, earning the win with four innings of relief last week at Rochester.

He last started Aug. 7 at Boston.

Noesi (2-0, 3.42 ERA) was recalled from Triple-A on June 12. He pitched a perfect ninth inning in New York's 8-3 win over Baltimore on Sunday night.
