Yankees ace Tanaka allows 4 homers in an inning against Rays

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) New York Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka has given up four home runs in the same inning against Tampa Bay.

Tanaka was staked to a 7-0 lead entering the bottom of the third Wednesday night when the barrage of four solo homers stated on a leadoff drive by Bobby Wilson. After Tanaka got two consecutive outs, Evan Longoria, Brad Miller and Corey Dickerson hit three consecutive shots.

The four home runs in an inning set a Tampa Bay team record.

Tanaka started play leading the AL with 2.97 ERA.
