Catcher Matt Wieters has been activated from the 15-day disabled list by the Baltimore Orioles.

Wieters was in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins. The Orioles' starting catcher spent the minimum amount of time on the DL after straining his right hamstring in Texas before the All-Star break.

Now in his second season, Wieters is batting .245 with six homers and 29 RBIs in 77 games.

To make room for Wieters, the Orioles optioned backup catcher Craig Tatum to Triple-A Norfolk. Tatum was hitting .271 with five RBIs in 32 games.
