White Sox's Floyd focusing on recovery from injury

White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd says he's focusing on his recovery from a season-ending elbow injury and isn't worrying about his contract status.

The 30-year-old right-hander had surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and a torn flexor muscle in his pitching arm in New York early last month and is expected to miss 14 to 19 months. He also has an expiring contract but says he has to ''get healthy first'' before he can worry about that.

Floyd said Sunday he'll start rehab June 17 and begin throwing in about six months.

He was 0-4 with a 5.18 ERA in five starts before going on the disabled list April 28. Floyd is 70-70 in 10 seasons with the White Sox and Phillies.
