Walker leaves start with right Achilles' tendon injury

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 3:24 p.m. ET

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) Seattle Mariners right-hander Taijuan Walker has left his start against Tampa Bay with what the team called an ''aggravated right Achilles''' tendon.

Walker left after allowing a one-out triple to Cory Dickerson in the fourth inning of Tuesday night's game. He looked to be in discomfort after delivering the pitch that Dickerson drove to left field.

After a conference with manager Scott Servais and a team trainer, Walker walked off the mound and was replaced by Edwin Diaz.

No other details about the injury were immediately available.
