Twins to place LHP Milone on DL with elbow strain

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Minnesota Twins will place pitcher Tommy Milone on the 15-day disabled list with a mild left elbow strain, retroactive to Aug. 1.

Milone complained of pain following his Friday start in which he gave up four runs to the Seattle Mariners in six innings. The left-hander is 5-3 with a 3.76 ERA in 14 starts this season.

Minnesota will purchase the contract of right-hander Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester and announced Sunday that Duffey will make his major league debut on Wednesday at Toronto. Duffey is 6-8 with a 2.66 ERA in 21 starts between Double-A and Triple-A this season.

The Twins will transfer reliever Ryan Pressly (right lat strain) to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Duffey on the 40-man roster.
