Twins put Swarzak on DL, bring up rookie Perdomo
The Minnesota Twins have placed right-handed reliever Anthony Swarzak on the 15-day disabled list with a right rotator cuff strain.
The move was made Thursday. To take Swarzak's place, right-hander Luis Perdomo's contract will be selected from Triple-A Rochester. To make room for Perdomo on the 40-man roster, right-hander Carl Pavano will be transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
Pavano already has missed 52 days because of a right shoulder injury, so this won't extend his absence by much. He recently began throwing off a mound.
Perdomo started with Double-A New Britain and was promoted to Rochester. He has a 2.14 ERA in 59 innings with 61 strikeouts this season between the two teams. Perdomo would be the 41st player to appear in a game this year for the Twins.
