The Minnesota Twins have placed shortstop J.J. Hardy on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised left wrist.
The Twins made the move before Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox, retroactive to last Wednesday.
Hardy is eligible to be activated May 20, the day before Minnesota begins a three-game series at Target Field against Hardy's old team, the Milwaukee Brewers.
Hardy was hurt sliding into third base in the ninth inning during a triple in last Tuesday's game against Detroit. He scored on a wild pitch to beat the Tigers and made a highlight-reel sliding stop of a grounder to help save a run in the top of that inning.

The Twins recalled infielder Matt Tolbert from Triple-A Rochester to take Hardy's place on the roster.
