Updated Mar. 4, 2020 12:36 p.m. ET

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Minnesota Twins placed outfielder Danny Santana on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring injury.

Santana was hurt in the 7-0 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. Twins manager Paul Molitor said Santana would have further tests when the club returns home Monday.

The Twins recalled outfielder Max Kepler, who was the 2015 Southern League MVP, from Triple-A Rochester.

Kepler, who was born in Berlin, hit .322 with 32 doubles, 13 triples, nine home runs and 18 stolen bases last season with Double-A Chattanooga. Kepler, 23, received an $800,000 signing bonus in 2009, which at the time was a record for a European position player.

Kepler made his big league debut last September, going 1 for 7 in three games.
